  • The M1008 is the basic cargo truck variant of the first family of light military utility vehicles manufactured by General Motors since World War II. The first generation of GM vehicles, developed under the Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle (CUCV) program, was based on the civilian Chevrolet C/K series and, in addition to the M1008 pickup, included the M1009 utility vehicle, the M1010 ambulance, the M1028 equipment carrier, and the M1031 chassis cab model. Approximately 75,000 vehicles were manufactured between 1983 and 1987, the majority of which were delivered to the U.S. Army (68,210); the remainder went to the USAAF (3,578 vehicles), the Marine Corps (2,973), and the Navy (504).
  • They served with U.S. forces around the world, participating, for example, in the Gulf War and the United Nations operation in Somalia. Although their withdrawal from service began in 1994, several CUCVs remained active in the following years, being used by the SFOR contingent in Bosnia in the second half of the 1990s and even in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Many CUCVs were also sold or donated to allied countries such as Albania and Greece.
    Latvia or Lebanon.
  • This reference represents the classic cargo truck version of the vehicle, equipped with troop seats in the bed, which can be mounted in a folded or unfolded position. The tailgate can also be locked in a closed or open position, or kept movable. The decal sheet contains markings for two U.S. Army vehicles, two U.S. Navy vehicles, and one SFOR vehicle, each with a different overall color or camouflage scheme.
  • The main features of the kit:
