- Blu Tack is a brand of adhesive putty that can be used for various purposes, such as hanging posters and attaching objects to walls or other surfaces, like miniature stands and handles for painting and modeling. It is made from a mixture of natural rubber and synthetic materials and can be stretched and molded to fit different shapes and sizes.
- It is especially useful in model making for holding figures and other small objects in place while painting with all kinds of paints, such as acrylics, or simply while working on them. The putty can be used to fix figures to supports, such as large cork stands, cork columns, wooden bases, or even plastic supports, without leaving residue or damaging the figures.
- In addition, Blu Tack can be used as a simple masking material when airbrushing. By molding the putty around the areas of a figure or model that you don't want to paint, you can create a barrier that will prevent the paint from reaching those areas, allowing you to achieve a more precise and accurate paint job.
- However, for this purpose, it's best to use specific products with less tack that won't damage the existing paint when removed. For this masking application, we recommend masking putty.
