  • Flexible varnishes are designed to maintain adhesion and durability even when the surface they are applied to is bent or moved. Unlike standard varnishes that can crack or peel under flexing, these varnishes contain special additives that enhance their flexibility. Green Stuff World's formula is latex- and vinyl-free to prevent allergic reactions and is ideal for use on materials such as EVA foam, latex, fabric, leather, 3D prints, and various cosplay materials.
  • This flexible varnish is typically used to protect pieces painted with flexible paints. It can also be mixed with metallic pigments to achieve stunning flexible metal effects.
  • To improve adhesion and prevent peeling, it's important to thoroughly clean and prepare the surface. Some materials may require sanding or priming to enhance adhesion. Suitable primers for this type of application include: first, a super-flexible primer; the same flexible paint (diluted and very thin); or, optionally, a thin coat of full-dip liquid vinyl, or even latex paint.
  • It should always be applied in very thin layers, especially the first. Subsequent layers should be applied while the previous one is still tacky, meaning the varnish doesn't stain but can be felt to the touch as it's not yet completely dry. Incorrect applications, excessive thickness, or build-up can impair adhesion and cause wrinkles.
  • For best results, the complete drying process should be respected, with a recommended curing time of at least 24 hours, especially if applied to surfaces with low adhesion. Larger layers of varnish may require more drying time, depending on the thickness.
  • Applying it with an airbrush or spray gun allows for extremely thin and uniform coatings, reducing the risk of peeling. We recommend thinning with water or, preferably, with Green Stuff World acrylic thinner, especially for the first coat, where a thin application is crucial.
  • The satin finish of this flexible varnish offers an ideal balance between matte and gloss, providing a surface with a subtle sheen that subtly highlights details without exaggerating imperfections. This type of finish is especially recommended for flexible pieces, as it is more resistant to dirt than a matte finish, maintains an attractive appearance, withstands handling very well, and is easy to clean, making it perfectly suited to projects that require strength, durability, and aesthetic elegance.
  • Warnings and recommendations:
    • Mixing with non-flexible paints or pigments can negatively affect its flexibility and adhesion.
    • Applying non-flexible paints over varnish does not guarantee that they will acquire flexible properties.
    • If the first layer is not thin enough or if a suitable primer is not applied, adhesion may be compromised.
    • Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before final use. If it feels tacky to the touch, it is a sign that it is not yet completely dry.
    • It's not an elastic varnish, but a flexible one. It has moderate elasticity that allows it to adapt to movement without losing adhesion, but it can crack or break if stretched excessively.
  • Contents: 1 x 240 ml
  • Warning: NOT recommended for use on surfaces such as glass, ceramic, glossy plastic, bare metal, concrete, stone, wood, silicone or waxed or silicone-coated materials, unless a suitable primer has been applied beforehand.
